Each year, early in September, the DCPNS produces and distributes Provincial, District, and Diabetes
Centre-specific statistical reports for the previous fiscal year. These reports are generated from Diabetes Centre data submitted monthly (either electronically by those Centres using the DCPNS Registry or manually) to the DCPNS. These reports include, among others, the number of newly diagnosed cases of diabetes referred to Diabetes Centres as well as the total number of visits (including follow-up, phone follow-up) and insulin starts. This data is provided by the area in which the patient was seen (inpatient, outpatient, or satellite site) as well as by age grouping (youth or adult). Statistical Report Packages are accompanied by an interpretation sheet and are compressed of tables and graphs to
assist with local use (sharing) and interpretation.
